Job Duties Include
- Day-to-day quality oversight of production output.
- Written, verbal, and in-person interaction with customers and suppliers regarding product development, quality requirements, defect escapes, and corrective actions.
- Internal Auditing to the ISO 90012015 standard.
- Development and deployment of Root Cause Corrective Actions in a multi-functional team environment.
- Testing and verification of product and processes including measurement, color analysis, specialized testing, and statistical process control.
- Implementation of controls and testing procedures that appropriately address non-conformance risk based on review of technical documentation such as dimensional prints, Quality Management System standards, Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA), and customer requirements.
- Responsibility for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), including the gathering of documentation, analysis of data, Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (GR&R) studies, and the creation of Control Plans, Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and other relevant documentation.
- Management of supplier quality functions including rejection and return of non-conforming product and issuance of formal corrective action requests against suppliers.
- Leadership of hourly Quality Assurance employees and Production personnel.
- Solid judgement regarding part quality and the ability to disposition product based on available inputs (customer requirements, part prints, boundary samples, test results, measurements, etc.)
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with and deep understanding of Quality Management System standards (ISO 9001 preferred, ITAF 16949 or AS9100 relevant).
- Understanding of Statistical Process Control and its application to manufacturing environments.
- Direct experience with the AIAG Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Ability to read and understand complex technical prints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience with determination and deployment of Root Cause Corrective Actions.
- Supervisory or Team Leadership experience.
- Ability to develop complex gaging systems, CMM experience, supplier quality experience, and calibration experience preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 2 years of experience in quality assurance
- ASQ Certifications a plus.
