Job Description
Cresset is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Director of Banking & Lending to take a leadership role on our dynamic team. This client-facing position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within Cresset’s expanding Banking & Lending division. The Banking & Lending team sits within the Family Office Services business unit of Cresset to support the diverse banking and lending needs of families and businesses. The team works directly with the 150 financial advisors and their teams in the 20 offices across the entire country. The Associate Director will work alongside the Head of Banking & Lending across a wide range of lending solutions.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for taking a leadership role in Banking & Lending initiatives, with a focus on operational excellence and proactive communication. Work Location
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation the candidate will be in office at least three days per week in any of these Cresset office locations: Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Minneapolis, MN; New York City, NY; Washington, DC; West Palm Beach, FL. Travel may be required occasionally for this role to engage with the broader team across the country.
Primary Responsibilities
- Wealth Advisor & Client Support: Work directly with wealth advisors and clients on lending projects of many types. Provide wealth advisors with research, education, and marketing materials on banking and lending trends, products, and market conditions. Respond promptly to client and wealth advisor requests, ensuring timely and accurate execution of tasks.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Act as a liaison between external banking and lending partners and internal teams, ensuring alignment on priorities and deadlines through proactive communication.
- Residential Mortgage Process Leadership: Take full ownership of this vertical nationwide by working directly with wealth advisors and clients, lead the residential mortgage process, including negotiating terms, application, processing, and closing.
- Securities Based Lending Process Leadership: Take full ownership of this vertical nationwide by working directly with wealth advisors and clients, lead the securities based lending process, including negotiating terms, application, processing, and closing.
- Database & Relationship Management: Maintain and update a comprehensive database of banking and lending partners, while cultivating strong relationships with external partners and wealth advisors to ensure exceptional service and collaboration.
- Operational Support: Oversee operational tasks such as updating CRM systems, managing external bank and lender relationships, and improving workflow templates. Ensure seamless execution of banking and lending activities across the team.
- Marketing & Communication: Create, update, and refine marketing and internal educational materials in collaboration with marketing and business development teams to align with strategic objectives and branding. Coordinate educational sessions for internal wealth advisors and regular communication with external partners.
- CRM & Process Improvement: Regularly update CRM system to track client data, deal progress, and key metrics. Continuously refine workflows, templates, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy, leveraging feedback and technology.

Preferred Experience
- 5 years of experience in private banking, mortgage, lending, or a similar financial services environment.
- Knowledge of the entire mortgage process including application, origination, processing, and closing.
- Familiarity with wealth management, private banking, and debt capital markets.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint); Salesforce experience is a plus.
What We Offer
At Cresset, we focus on people first. As a service business, our people are our assets. Engaging our clients and employees is our highest priority. Starting base salary range: $110,000-$135,000. Salary will be based on factors including, but not limited to, experience, licenses/certifications, industry knowledge, and geographic location.
