What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solutions Scientist position at Cresset?
This role operates across the Discovery Solutions Division, building customer success for current and prospective software clients and delivering computational chemistry services to Discovery CRO customers.
Requirements:
- PhD in chemistry or a related discipline, experienced computational or medicinal chemist.
- At least 1-2 years of demonstratable, relevant commercial or related experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently on highly complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables.
- Demonstrable presentation and communication skills.
- Fluent English language skills.
- Python language skills or desire to learn is desirable.
- Ability to travel to conferences and customers (up to 25%).
Responsibilities:
This role will support two teams.
Applications and Support Sciences:
- Provide Cresset application demonstrations and training to enable customers to become productive users and champions of our products.
- Provide direct and indirect customer support using customer management systems.
- Collaborate with commercial colleagues to provide technical expertise and assistance with identifying the correct Cresset solution(s) to prospective and existing customers.
- Act as an advisor to Cresset’s Product and Science teams, serving as the customer’s voice.
- Provide early-access testing of Cresset products with progression towards release.
Discovery CRO:
- Carry out computational chemistry project work, delivering a diverse range of drug discovery projects to Cresset customers.
- Working with the Account Managers and Director of Discovery, help to grow the Cresset Discovery CRO business in North America.
- Assisting the Director of Discovery and other members of the team on meeting project deliverables in a timely manner.
Additional responsibilities to support both teams include:
- The ability to represent and present, in-person, Cresset’s science at client meetings, conferences, seminars, and exhibitions.
- Develop case studies, posters, presentations, and training videos demonstrating how Cresset solutions can be applied to relevant problems in new molecule discovery.
- Maintain and expand knowledge and expertise in current and future Cresset products and workflows.
In order to collaborate with colleagues and support customers, candidates are required to work usual office hours within Eastern Standard Time.
Cresset develops software for calculating and comparing the molecular field characteristics of chemical compounds.
