What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internship - Development of Data Analysis Software for Gamma-Ray Missions position at CRESST II?
The NASA-GSFC Astroparticle Physics Lab actively participates in a range of existing and upcoming missions covering most of the gamma-ray spectrum, including Fermi-LAT, BurstCube, COSI, ComPair, and HAWC. These missions investigate the universe's most energetic phenomena, particularly those involving compact objects like neutron stars and black holes.
This project focuses on developing new software or enhancing existing code to optimize the scientific output of these missions. Our primary goals include improving interoperability between different gamma-ray missions and facilitating multi-wavelength and multi-messenger studies.
Stipend Amount: Undergraduates receive a stipend up to $8,200. Graduates receive a stipend up to $9,900.
Dates of Internship: This summer internship will begin on Monday, June 2, 2025 and end on Friday, August 8, 2025. Deviations from this specific period are possible with the agreement of the designated mentor.
