At River Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, we are looking for a compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to join our leadership team. The Director of Nursing is a key member of the River Valley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center Leadership Team who will integrate and coordinate a patient-centric nursing strategy with a keen focus on patient care. The DON participates in the facility's strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and objectives. The DON will also be required to manage, train, and motivationally support the nursing staff. The ideal candidate for this position will have previous experience within Nursing Home environments, demonstrate nursing leadership, possess a strong ability to work with and develop teams, and have an in-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and protocols. Your Role:
- Lead, manage, and support nursing staff while fostering a collaborative, patient-focused environment.
- Ensure patient care meets all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversee nursing unit compliance and contribute to the strategic planning process for institutional goals.
- Train and mentor nursing staff, implementing new policies and procedures.
- Work closely with physicians, families, and patients to ensure coordinated, high-quality care.
- Support the development of quality assurance programs, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide regular feedback and guidance to nursing staff, ensuring patient safety and well-being.
Who We're Looking For:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) certification in the state of Illinois
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Proven leadership experience in nursing, especially in a nursing home or similar healthcare setting
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and best practices
- A team-oriented professional with a passion for high-quality care
- Enthusiastic about contributing to an organization that values its staff and patients
