General Description of Position:
The purpose of this position is to assist in the preparation of accurate and timely reporting of the company’s financial position and operational results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis in an efficient manner with a focus on inventory management, sales, discounts, and cost of goods sold.
Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts monthly for sales, inventory, and other sales related accruals
- Contribute to special projects as needed
- Prepare accounting reports assigned by the company’s financial team for product analytics/margin
- Analyze manufacturing costs comparing budget costs to actual production
- Performs and manages all aspects of physical inventory counts
- Prepare monthly journal entries for multiple financial areas
- Maintain construction in process accounts (CIP) and manage the fixed asset management including project appropriation requests, capitalization policy and depreciation
- Gather and prepare information for judgmental reserves such as discounts and rebates and other external financial compliance activities
- Complete monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes on a timely and accurate basis for materials, labor and overhead
- Analyze manufacturing work orders through the company’s cost system
- Review and investigate cycle count, material and other variances
- Transactional Data Accuracy & Accountability for Final Work Order/Job Closures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
- Minimum 2-5 years accounting related experience; manufacturing environment experience preferred
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with intermediate/advanced use of Excel
- Team oriented, ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently
- Excellent, verbal and written business communication and organizational skills
- Willing to learn different aspects of Accounting
- Detail oriented and strong work ethic
- Strong technical skills regarding inventory management, reconciliation and cost analysis
Environmental Conditions:
- Works in office environment
- Talking, hearing and vision capabilities are required
- Minimal bending, stooping, walking, and stair climbing are required as is lifting items of light to moderate weight
- Must adhere to the company’s quality standards, safety rules and regulations
Travel:
- Minimal to no travel required.
