POSITION OVERVIEW

 

Crest Rock is looking for an Associate to join the Business Development team to assist with deal origination and marketing responsibilities. The position is based at the firm’s headquarters in Denver, Colorado. The Associate will report to the head of the business development group, Michelle Eidson. The position is for an immediate start date. 

 

Methodical, systematic sourcing is a key component to the Crest Rock strategy. The firm implements a process-oriented approach expected to generate a high volume of deal flow, allowing the firm to remain disciplined and selective.

 

As such, the primary responsibilities of the Business Development Associate would include:

  • Active outreach via phone to relevant intermediaries, service providers in middle market M&A, and target acquisitions (30 to 50 calls per week)
  • Maintaining relationships with investment banks, service providers and large corporations
  • Sourcing and evaluating investments (preliminary screen/filter) against Crest Rock’s investment criteria
  • Negotiating non-disclosure agreements and fee agreements with intermediaries
  • Inputting, maintaining and analyzing data in Crest Rock’s Salesforce CRM database
  • Developing and maintaining marketing materials and keeping the company website up to date
  • Attending select industry conferences and trade shows in targeted markets throughout North America
  • Conducting primary research and market mapping activities to identify new intermediary relationships and investment opportunities
  • Proactively seeking out and developing relationships with alternative sources of deal flow outside of the intermediary universe
  • Generating and distributing press releases, email blasts and other forms of public relations, including LinkedIn posts to the firm LinkedIn page


IDEAL BACKGROUND

 

The ideal candidate would have anywhere from two to ten years of work experience; preferably with at least two years within a private equity business development role, investment banking or software sales experience. Candidates should also possess the following characteristics:

  • Team player and proactive self-starter
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a relationship builder, professional, and a continuous learner
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with strong organization skills
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
  • Analytical skills and a strategic mindset
  • Database analytics experience
  • Knowledge of software and technology sector a plus


Salary : $50,000 - $100,000
