What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide - Part-Time position at Crest View Corporation?
Crest View Senior Communities is looking for positive and dedicated Culinary Server to serve older adults at our Blaine Campus. Crest View offers a full continuum of care including skilled nursing, assisted living, independent living, and memory care.
The Dietary Aide/Server position is responsible for assisting in the serving of resident meals, dishes, light prep work and sweeping and mopping. Candidates will also maintain a clean and safe work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Washes tableware and utensils.
- Washes dishes and utensils according to posted operations.
- Scrapes, stacks, loads, washes, unloads and stores tableware and utensils.
- Sanitizes food carts and dishwashing counters after each meal.
- Keeps dishwashing area including walls and floors clean at all times.
- Neatly arranges each tray and / or table setting with proper tableware, condiments and tray card as applicable, handling all tableware and utensils in a sanitary manner.

Assists Cook with food service tasks such as:
- Cutting fruits and vegetables, plating desserts and bread
- Assisting with dishing food at mealtime following proper portion size and food item.
- Knowing how to comprehend general and therapeutic menus and following instructions for special diets as communicated by supervisor.
- Prepares and serves beverages at mealtime according to recipe or instructions, and cleans all beverage dispensers according to manufacturers instructions.
- Performs general cleaning tasks according to cleaning schedule, documenting when items are completed.
- Prepares and / or delivers nourishments / supplements.
- Reviews the nourishment / supplement list with the Director of Culinary Services or Supervisor.
- Prepares food items, as instructed by the Director of Culinary Services and identifies each item with residents name and / or room number.
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment, utensils and surrounding work area immediately after food preparation is completed.
- Appropriately stores and labels leftovers immediately after use.
- May maintain or assist in maintaining dry storage area, including unpacking, rotating, and dating of food and supplies, as well as keeping the room clean and orderly.
- Maintains tray tickets, arranging them for meal delivery.
- Disposes of soiled Dining Services linen, including rags, bibs, and mop heads, taking them to the appropriate area.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Must be 15 years or older
- Must be able to comprehend and follow directions. On the job training is provided.
- Must be willing to provide excellent hospitality to the residents, and serve food and beverages in a professional and timely manner.
- Must be willing to create a fun, engaging, and caring environment for residents.
Preferred:
- Previous hospitality experience
- Experience with and/or knowledge of food service or sanitation techniques in food service.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to express themselves to other staff, family, and residents and to use the telephone.
- Must be able to comprehend tray tickets, food orders and memos.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs and be able to bend, push, twist, reach and carry items. Must be able to climb stairs.
- Must be able to determine via senses what sounds equipment is making and if something is hot or cold.
