What are the responsibilities and job description for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) position at Crest View Recovery Center?
Under direction of the Board and supervision of our medical director provide medical and psychiatric services to Crest View Recovery Center and its clients and programs; provides clinical supervision of patient care; acts as a liaison to local medical community; examines and treats clients and performs related duties as required.
Conducts psychiatric examinations; collects, evaluates, and analyzes subjective and objective medical data; makes diagnoses, formulates orders and plans, prescribes medication or therapy, and determines need for further or specialized treatment; confers with patient’s relatives regarding nature of patient’s illness and recommended treatment.
Employment Standards:
-Possession of a valid license as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, MD, psychiatrist or addictionologist issued by the State of North Carolina with a specialization in Addictions (preferred, but not required.)
-A combination of training, education, and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities and license.
-Knowledge of: terminology of modern medicine; clinical medicine, including emergency, primary care, and specialty medicine; accepted clinical practices; medical ethics.
Ability to: organize and prioritize work, analyze and evaluate data, draw conclusions, and develop responses; learn, interpret, and apply laws and regulations pertaining to public health and medical services; exercise independent judgment; establish and maintain working relationships with health care professionals and others; provide clinical direction to allied health professionals; communicate technical information to persons with varying degrees of medical knowledge; prepare a variety of written documents and reports; learn departmental operations and services; maintain objectivity.
