Crest View Senior Communities is a faith-based not for profit organization looking for positive and compassionate maintenance assistant to serve older adults on our Columbia Heights campus.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance assistant is responsible for assisting Director of Environmental Services for preventative maintenance, routine and emergency repairs to permit the continued use, operation, and safety of the buildings, facilities, and grounds, as well as snow removal and lawn care as well as other duties assigned by management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or equivalent. Must have at least a special boiler's license or be able to obtain one. Must be able to make repairs in plumbing, heating, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical. Must have experience working with the elderly and disabled. Must be familiar with nursing home codes and state regulations. Ability to safely use equipment, understand and follow directions, work independently as well as with others in a professional manner, prioritize work, identify emergencies, respect privacy, confidentiality, and tenant's rights.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Hearing and speech must be sufficient to communicate clearly with tenants, staff, volunteers, and visitors, and to observe the proper operation of equipment. Vision must be sufficient to read product directions and equipment operation instructions, control dials and gauges. Strength and mobility must be sufficient to allow for the ability to climb stairs and work from ladders. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
