POSITION SUMMARY
We seek an enthusiastic and skilled Long-Term Substitute Math Teacher to join our community for the remainder of the school year. This position involves teaching math to one mixed 6th-8th grade class and one small 5th grade group, fostering a love of learning, and helping each student reach their full potential.
The schedule is 8:00-10:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays, classes are 9:30-11:45 am. There will be additional time for planning/prep and meetings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement an engaging, rigorous curriculum and lesson plans aligned with Crestmont’s values.
- Build strong relationships with students, fostering a classroom climate that is respectful, inclusive, and supportive of diverse learners.
- Collaborate with staff and families to create a cohesive and nurturing school community.
- Use creative and real-world applications to make math relevant and engaging for students.
- Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development in alignment with Crestmont’s mission.
QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
- Experience teaching math at the upper elementary and/or middle school level.
- A passion for creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including building connections with students, staff, and families.
- A commitment to fostering the emotional and social growth of every child.
- The ability to develop curriculum and differentiate instruction for a range of learners.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
