What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Environmental Specialist position at Creston Environmental, LLC?
We are looking for a dynamic person to serve as an entry level scientist working out of the Steubenville, Ohio Area. Self-motivation, interaction, and collaboration along with independent thought and excellent communication skills are highly desirable attributes. This position will support an existing team within our oil and gas program with an earth science-based college degree preferred. This will be a full-time permanent position working 40 hours per week. The company will provide the necessary safety and job specific training.
Job Duties:
• Working with clients, supervisor, and peers to collect and review environmental compliance data
• Gas, soil and water monitoring and sample collection
• This position will involve field work 80% of the time
• Candidate must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to take clear and legible field notes, and should be able to demonstrate these as appropriate during an interview process
• Must be a citizen of the United States
• Must have valid driver’s license and the ability to travel out of town for up to one consecutive week at a time if necessary
• Ability to work in a multiple contingency environment
• Self Starter
• Ability to hike in wooded and hilly terrain to remote sampling areas up to ½ mile from the nearest road. Should also be able to lift and carry items which weigh 40 pounds.
