We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented EHS Wastewater Technician to join our Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining compliance with wastewater treatment standards, environmental regulations, and company safety protocols. This position involves hands-on work in chemical handling, system maintenance, data management, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform chemical additions and monitor processes to ensure effective wastewater treatment.
- Conduct daily reporting and maintain accurate records of operations, testing, and compliance activities.
- Perform routine and specialized testing of wastewater to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain housekeeping standards in the wastewater treatment area to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems used in wastewater treatment processes.
- Handle plumbing repairs and modifications related to the wastewater treatment system.
- Manage chemical and parts inventory, including monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies as needed.
- Perform clerical tasks such as data entry, record-keeping, and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the wastewater treatment system to maintain efficient operation.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators, gloves, and safety glasses.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in wastewater treatment, plumbing, or a related field preferred.
- Basic understanding of electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in clerical and data entry tasks.
- Familiarity with hazardous waste handling and environmental regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance.
- Experience using Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred
- Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends, and flexible hours as required.
- Must adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instructions.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data
Certifications and Training:
- Willingness to obtain necessary qualifications and certifications such as HAZWOPER (Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response).
- Other wastewater or safety-related certifications are a plus.
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work in environments that may involve exposure to chemicals, hazardous waste, and varying temperatures.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators, gloves, and safety glasses.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods.
- Comfort with working in confined spaces and heights as required.
Schedule:
- Full-time, with potential for occasional overtime or on-call duties as needed.
