What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN Nurse position at Crestview Senior Living?
We are seeking a PRN Nurse for our assisted living community. This community has a max capacity of 85 Residents, and we are not at full capacity. We are not a skilled nursing community, therefore there are no peg tubes, IV's, catheters, traches, etc. We utilize home health nurses for our wound care. The Nurse is responsible for managing and passing medications. Sometimes, the nurse may be required to send Residents out to the ER and/or complete an incident and accident report. The Nurse is expected to process and file any orders and necessary paperwork, stay in communication with physicians and POAs regarding Residents' needs, keep the nurse's station and med room organized and clean, supervise the CNAs to ensure the Residents are being properly cared for and their duties are being completed as expected, and assist in answering any calls that may come in. This Nurse will also participate in the planning, formation, and updating of healthcare service plans, level of care assessments, and individual service plans. The DON has an open-door policy and welcomes any questions or concerns. A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to supervise CNAs effectively, utilize their time well, and enjoy working as part of a team. Our nurses have meaningful relationships with our Residents, their families/caregivers, and the staff as a whole.
Must have a valid Nursing license. PRN means when WE need a nurse, and our PRN nurses must be available to work most shifts. Our community utilizes WEO 7a-7p and 7p-7a, then Monday through Friday 7a-3p, 3p-11p, and 11p-7a. Experience in senior resident services is preferred. You will be expected to work on both the assisted living and memory care side of the community. At times there may be special projects you are assigned to help complete. The Nurse will always work to make sure the Residents receive the highest quality of care. This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment that requires a team player who has the ability to supervise effectively, collaborate, designate, and adapt to the changes associated with caring for elderly Residents and those with Dementia.
