GROUNDS MAINTENANCE WORKER (job description) (seasonal)
- Report directly to Head and/or Assistant Superintendent.
- Assist mechanic as instructed.
- Perform manual labor necessary for the construction, care and maintenance of a golf course, often involving the use of acquired experience.
- Perform routine tasks involving the use of some skills acquired by experience or on the job instruction.
- Perform heavy manual work for an extended period under varying weather conditions.
- Operate powered mowing equipment while trimming golf course fairways, greens, roughs, aprons, tee boxes, etc.
- Water course and greens by hand or via the irrigation system as required.
- Cut and lay sod, apply seed, apply fertilizer and chemicals as instructed.
- Change flag stick locations and tee markers.
- Maintain ball washers and drinking water supply.
- Repair and replace irrigation system as instructed.
- Perform weed eating, edging and raking bunkers.
- Assist in construction and renovation projects on the property by grading, preparing base and planting turf.
- Pump gas, lubricate, and make minor adjustments and repairs to turf equipment as instructed by supervisors.
- Prune, plant and cultivate trees, shrubbery, flowers, etc.
- Perform a variety of other manual work in connection with the maintenance and construction of golf course and grounds as instructed by supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned or recognized.
Working Schedules
- Hours worked are as scheduled.
- Number of hour worked will vary depending the time of year and weather.
- The club is open weekends and holidays–work will be required on these days if scheduled.
- Early morning shifts will be required if scheduled.
Job Types: Part-time, Seasonal
Pay: $12.00 - $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 28 – 40 per week
