Job Overview
The Director of Social Services plays a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing the social service programs within our organization. This leadership position is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of programs that support individuals with developmental disabilities and promote their well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong supervisory and administrative skills, along with a deep understanding of behavioral health and social work principles.

Duties

• Supervise and lead a team of social service professionals, ensuring effective program delivery and staff development.
• Oversee the administrative functions of social services, including program budgeting and resource allocation.
• Develop and implement innovative programs that address the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Manage relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to enhance service delivery.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in social services.
• Conduct regular assessments to evaluate program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments for improvement.
• Provide guidance and support to staff in addressing complex cases involving behavioral health issues.
• Facilitate training sessions to enhance staff skills in program management and relationship management.

Qualifications

• A degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required; advanced degrees are preferred.
• Proven experience in supervising social service programs or teams.
• Strong administrative skills with experience in program management and development.
• Knowledge of behavioral health practices and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is essential.
• Excellent relationship management skills to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency in budgeting and financial management related to social service programs.
• A commitment to promoting the dignity and rights of individuals served by social services.
