PART-TIME GENERAL FOOD SERVICE WORKER/SERVER – District-Wide
Initial assignment – High School
Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM—1:15 PM. (* The Schedule may vary depending on need, as is the current practice.)
6.50 hrs./day; 2 days one (1) week/3 days the following week.
$19.44/hr. after completing a sixty (60) workday probationary period at a 10% rate reduction (as per CBA).
Successful candidates will need pre-employment drug tests, physical and TB tests, and Current Act 24, Act 34, Act 114, Act 126, Act 151, and Act 168 clearances.

Position Description
POSITION TITLE:Food Service Worker/Server DATE:September 13, 2021
DEPARTMENT: Food Service LOCATION:District Wide
REPORTS TO: Head Cook & Food Service Director
POSITION GOAL: To ensure an efficient quality food service operation for the ultimate
health, comfort, and benefit of the students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must have basic knowledge of all aspects of the POS system.
- Responsible for the operation of the cash register during lunch periods.
- Responsible for reconciliation of cash and deposit preparation at the end of lunch.
- Responsible for enforcing the District’s Charge Policy.
- Maintain and stock all milk, ice cream, and beverage coolers.
- Adheres to the dress code. Keep neat and clean.
- Attends relevant meetings and or training sessions.
- Report any hazardous conditions or equipment to the food service director.
- Establish favorable relationships with co-workers, students, and faculty to achieve the goal of total customer satisfaction.
- Know the menu that is being served. Use proper utensils and follow established recipes to ensure portions meet the USDA requirements of the NSLP/NSBP.
- Participate in the preparation and service of food following an established production method.
- Follows established procedures for service, storage, and clean-up of meals.
- Participate in the completion of production records, organizing kitchen, stockrooms, cooler & freezer, and can complete all safety and HACCP checklists.
- Replenish and refill any diminishing qualities of snack items served and keep condiments filled at all times.
- Follow all HACCP procedures and sanitation and safety methods for personnel, food preparation, and kitchen equipment.
- Set up, Prepare, and clean up the Kitchen Area as necessary. Keep all work areas clean and safe.
- Complete discard/waste sheets for all food thrown away, when applicable.
- Assist co-workers when needed.
- Perform other duties as the administration and Food Service Director deem necessary.
- Assists in preparing, serving, and cleaning special school functions when needed.
- Participate in Safety & Sanitation Inspections
- Understand who the designated Person in Charge is in the absence of the head cook.
- Follow all guidelines set in place by the PDE, USDA, and PA Department of Health
- Can work independently and lift, pull, or push 50 pounds.
- Perform other duties the Head Cook & Food Service Director assigns.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma.
- Demonstrates interest in children and education.
- Evidence of emotional maturity and stability necessary for the specialized work involved.
- Must meet the minimum health requirements of the PA Department of Education and other governing agencies.
- Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
1. Hourly rate according to the agreement between the Crestwood School District Board of Directors and support staff CBA.
