Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Thorough Inspections: Inspect tractors, trailers, reefers, and tires to ensure they meet safety and operational standards.
- Document Defects: Record any defects identified during inspections in the maintenance system for follow-up repairs.
- Clear Communication: Communicate identified defects to drivers and shop personnel for quick and effective repairs.
- Team Collaboration: Build and maintain positive relationships with shop staff and drivers to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain Safety and Compliance: Perform all duties in line with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
- Attend Regularly: Consistently show up for your shifts with predictable attendance.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as needed to support the team.
Skills & Abilities You’ll Need:
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills to communicate clearly with the team.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to learn and identify defects in tractors, trailers, reefers, and tires.
- Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose mechanical issues effectively.
- Technical Know-How: Able to read and create work orders, and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 months of related experience or training (preferred but not required).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, noisy environment around moving equipment.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Capable of bending, kneeling, stretching, and squatting to perform inspections and repairs.
- Good vision to ensure quality inspections and repair work.
