Work Agreement: 185 days; 7-8 hours per day and/or as available
Hourly Pay: Starts at $16.76 and is based on related experience
Crete Public Schools is seeking applications for a special education para educator to begin immediately.
This position is flexible and can accommodate either full-time or part-time hours based on your availability. However, a preference will be given to full-time availability.

Essential Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Satisfactory completion of criminal background check
- Work well with children and co-workers
- First aid knowledge preferred, but not required
- Bilingual preferred, but not required
Job Tasks:
- Collaborate with the special education teacher in order to assist students in meeting individual goals.
- Assist children individually or in small groups to reinforce learning concepts.
- Assisting students in daily functions such as feeding and toileting.
- Supervise students in a variety of capacities (classroom, hallway, playground, etc.)
- Assist classroom teachers in a variety of capacities such as preparing lesson materials, bulletin board displays, sanitizing the room, etc.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions of each employee’s position includes:
(1) regular, dependable in-person attendance on the job;
(2) the ability to perform the identified tasks and to possess and utilize the identified knowledge, skills, and abilities and to perform the identified work activities; and
(3) the ability to perform the physical requirements on their specific job description.

- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the Superintendent or Principal.

- This position is an “at-will” position and may be terminated, with or without cause, at any time in the sole discretion of the Superintendent or Superintendent’s designee.
