Job Title: Commercial HVAC Superintendent – Service Division
As a Commercial HVAC Superintendent, you will lead and oversee a team of technicians while ensuring the successful execution of HVAC service projects. This position requires extensive hands-on technical knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to drive quality, safety, and customer satisfaction across all commercial service operations. You’ll serve as a working leader who mentors technicians, coordinates workflow, and ensures all service work meets the highest standards.
What You'll Do:
Provide leadership and supervision for Commercial HVAC Service Technicians across multiple job sites and service calls.
Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a variety of commercial HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, RTUs, air handlers, and control systems.
Ensure all work meets company quality standards, safety regulations, and customer expectations.
Serve as the senior point of contact for customer issues and escalations.
Conduct job site inspections to monitor technician performance, adherence to safety practices, and progress on assigned service tickets.
Mentor junior technicians through hands-on training, ride-alongs, and technical guidance.
Coordinate technician scheduling, parts procurement, and ensure timely completion of service orders.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals to support technician troubleshooting and repairs.
Lead installation or retrofit efforts of auxiliary components like valves, air ducts, dampers, and pumps when required.
Track labor hours, materials used, and document all service activity in accordance with company procedures.
Drive continuous improvement across service processes and technician development.
Position Requirements:
8 years of Commercial HVAC experience with at least 2 years in a leadership, foreman, or supervisory capacity.
Universal EPA Certification required.
Expert in troubleshooting commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, air handling systems, VAVs, and control systems.
Deep understanding of mechanical and electrical components related to HVAC systems.
Ability to interpret schematics and manage complex service scopes across multiple job sites.
Proactive, safety-conscious, and highly organized with excellent communication skills.
Proficient in planning daily operations, allocating resources, and driving technician productivity.
High School diploma or GED required; advanced technical training or certifications preferred.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
