We are looking to add a Construction Manager to our team. This person will coordinate and direct Construction Department supervisors, Trade leads and subcontractors including planning, forecasting, and scheduling of all manpower loading for Construction Dept. Oversee and direct construction project manpower from conception to completion. Be accountable for the financial aspects of HVAC/MEP projects including oversight and support related to forecasting and management of the project related areas such as cost, billing, collections and vendor terms, variation orders, risk and opportunities.

- Visit job sites daily to ensure progress, quality and alignment with Project Managers and the project schedules.
- Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed
- Maintaining profit & loss responsibility as well as other project financials including projections.
- Providing strong leadership and supervision to project teams (including Project Managers, Field Managers, Project Engineers, and field crews) and subcontractors.
- Work closely with Project manager and Dept Managers and provide technical guidance where necessary.
- Providing administrative support in the areas of employee recruitment, hiring, retention, and evaluation of your staff.
- Demonstrate effective leadership ability within a team environment and contribute significantly to team performance.
- Working closely with in-house Estimators and Sales teams to assist in reviewing bids and developing proposals
- Generates, maintains and provides reports as required.
- Initiates and assists in the development and presentations of programs which address important goals of the company such as supervisory and employee development and promoting positive employee relations.
- Assist HR in coordinating and tracking department employee training.
- Monitor and evaluate trade labor manpower and provide feedback to Management.
- Review project schedules, deliverables and understand estimated costs to stay within.
- Prepare internal and external reports pertaining to department status.
- Review contracts and obtain permits and licenses.
- Analyze, manage and mitigate risks.
- Ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques.
- Verify competencies of workforce by performing occasional quality checks on site.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10( ) years in construction management, engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as a Construction Manager in the Commercial HVAC, Mechanical/MEP field.
- Strong leadership, facilitation, team building and process improvement skills.
- High proficiency in Microsoft applications (such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Familiarity with construction management software packages
- Ability to plan and see the “big picture”
- Leadership capabilities. Effective communication and language skills; verbal and written. Good organizational skills
