Pipefitter

We are looking to add a Pipefitter to our team. You will fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as machinery frames, bridge parts, and pressure vessels, using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements. Includes experimental welders who analyze engineering drawings and specifications to plan welding operations where procedural information is unavailable.

• Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and ruler. Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment.
• Cuts workpiece, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife.
• Melts lead bar, wire, or scrap to add lead to joint or to extrude melted scrap into reusable form.
• Need to be able to sweat copper.
• Installs or repairs equipment, such as lead pipes, valves, floors, and tank linings.
• Observes tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications.
• Inspects grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
• Removes rough spots from workpiece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper.
• Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Heats, forms, and dresses metal parts, using hand tools, torch, or arc welding equipment.
• Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations.
• Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.
• Be prepared to work in challenging mechanical environments, including tight spaces and rugged conditions.
• Must be able to adapt to extreme temperatures, including heat and cold, depending on the situation.
• Possess a thorough understanding of mechanical operating systems and their integration with existing production equipment.
• Demonstrate strong mathematical skills, particularly for fabrication tasks involving welded, threaded, and sweated pipe systems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Pass 6G Tig & Stick Welding test.
• Fitter/Welder Combo.
• Need to be able to work with Copper/Freon/Ammonia (Preferred).
• Need to be able to sweat copper.
• 3 years of successful experience in a related role.
• Ability to read/ interpret blueprints, drawings, submittals specifications.
• Able to work easily and skillfully with tools, metals and machines.
• Must be able to read, write, and interpret documents such as safety rules, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), operating, repair, installation and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read, write and verbally communicate effectively.
• Be able to follow OSHA requirements and safety precautions per company procedures and policies.
• Familiar with building codes and requirements on the job sites.
• Travel may be required.
• Must be willing to submit to background check/drug screen.
