Shop Fabricator/Welder
Typical Duties
- Fabricate ductwork, air distribution accessories and associated equipment for commercial, industrial and institutional heating and air conditioning work.
- Locate, measure and outline installation areas from construction drawings.
- Drill holes, attach brackets, hangers and other holding devices.
- Fabricate complex fittings and ductwork for fabrication.
- Assist with moving, loading, unloading and distribution of material and parts.
- Set equipment such as coils, fans and humidifiers.
- Operate equipment such as shears, press brakes, sheet rollers, hem saws, plasma cutters, grinders, etc.
- Be able to work overtime when needed (evenings and weekends).
Qualifications
- Must have ability to weld to a qualified procedure using GMAW (MIG), and GTAW (TIG)
- Minimum 2 years metal fabrication experience.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- A MIG and TIG weld test on stainless, carbon, galvanized and aluminum will be required at interview.
- Able to use hand tools, man lifts, platform lifts, forklifts, rigging and erecting equipment
- Able to do material take-offs / cut list.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Can-do attitude
