An Ophthalmic Assistant is a valuable asset to the Ophthalmologist in the clinic by providing quality care to patients during their visit. An Ophthalmic Assistant is able to handle a wide range of duties including initial testing to prepare the patient for their visit with the Ophthalmologist. The primary goal of the Ophthalmic Assistant is to increase efficiency and productivity of the physician. We are looking for a person who is responsible, ethical, professional, energetic and motivated with the ability to listen and organize. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. The position is fast paced, requires walking, bending, some lifting and problem solving. This is a permanent full-time position for the person with a desire to learn and grow with the company. Must have a stable work history (2 years) to be considered with past employer references.
Responsibilities
- Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and procedures by preparing patients and equipment.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Perform intake procedures, testing and gathering medical history.
- Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care and assist with optical inquiries.
- Communicate clearly with patients and team members to ensure a smooth workflow.
