Who You Are
Are you an experienced construction professional with a passion to build? We're looking for a results & detail-oriented Superintendent to oversee our commercial construction projects throughout the San Diego area. Our Superintendents provide effective, organized and consistent supervision and management of construction work for all trades and vendors to support the requirements of the contract and Crew Builders construction policies while delivering the project with Crew Builders construction's standard quality, safety and schedule commitments. Communication, team building, problem solving and leadership are key characteristics. Willing to work nights and weekends if required.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and Manage Construction with Sub-Contractors.
- Have a clear and complete understanding of the drawings and project scope.
- Communicate scheduling and coordinate with other trades to ensure a consistent and productive workflow.
- Manage & ensure the progress of the project is meeting the scheduled completion dates.
- Continuously communicate progress to not only the subcontractors but also the Project Manager and the client on an as needed basis.
- Ensure all construction is being completed in compliance with the contract drawings and any other applicable requirements (OSHPD / OSHA, etc).
- Build a strong and trust based relationship with the IOR or City inspectors (if applicable). Verify all work is in compliant and complete prior to scheduling inspections.
- Generate two or three week look ahead's weekly and publish to Subs and PM team.
- Manage safety program on-site per Crew Builders construction and state/client safety requirements.
- Create and submit "Daily Reports" and submit at the end of every shift.
- Maintain Timely and Accurate Job-Site Documentation.
- Daily reports, conversation reports, RFI's, safety meeting minutes, schedules using MS Project.
- Maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times.
- Supervise and Manage Project Completion and Job Close-Out to Meet Schedule Requirements.
- Manage completion of punch lists in a timely manner.
- Additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Construction Superintendent.
- Minimum of three (3) verifiable client or work references.
- Ability to create and maintain three (3) week look ahead using Microsoft Project.
- Computer savvy and capable of effectively using Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project and Outlook.
- Dynamic leader with exceptional organization and communication skills (oral and written).
- The ability and willingness to do some self-perform work (framing, drywall, etc.) should it be required. High School Diploma required (College degree preferred).
