Junior Civil Litigation Attorney
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Junior Civil Litigation Attorney to join a dynamic, collaborative law firm specializing in business and civil litigation. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with some experience in litigation who is eager to develop their skills further and contribute to a strong, growth-oriented team.
Key Responsibilities :
Case Management : Independently manage and take responsibility for various aspects of civil litigation, including pre-litigation, trial preparation, motions, and appeals.
Court Appearances : Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and pre-trial proceedings, with opportunities to gain trial experience as part of a team.
Client Interaction : Maintain direct communication with clients, keeping them informed about case developments and providing legal advice when necessary.
Legal Research and Writing : Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses, and prepare legal documents for court.
Trial Preparation : Take an active role in preparing cases for trial, including organizing and managing evidence, preparing exhibits, and preparing witnesses.
Collaborative Teamwork : Work closely with senior attorneys and partners to collaborate on litigation strategies and contribute to case development.
Qualifications :
Experience : A minimum of 1-5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on civil litigation (including partnership disputes, fraud, breach of contract, real estate, construction defect, civil harassment, landlord-tenant disputes, and data privacy).
Trial Experience : Experience in assisting with or handling court appearances, depositions, and motion hearings. The ideal candidate should be eager to handle trial responsibilities and gain more courtroom experience.
Education : A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
License : Must be licensed and admitted to the bar in the state of California and in good standing with the bar.
Professionalism : High level of professionalism with the ability to manage complex matters efficiently, work under pressure, and maintain attention to detail.
Cultural Fit : Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues. A collaborative and dynamic team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment : Must be prepared to work on-site at the firm's office in Sherman Oaks, CA, with flexibility based on specific cases.
