The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and optimizing daily manufacturing operations across multiple production workstations and departments. The manufacturing supervisor will lead teams, coordinate cross-functional activities, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Production Leadership & New Product Integration
- Supervise and lead production line , ensuring adherence to production schedules and meeting customer demands.
- Develop and implement capacity planning strategies to support production ramp-up and achieve targeted outputs.
- Identify production bottlenecks and implement effective solutions to enhance throughput and efficiency.
- Maintain agility in manufacturing processes to quickly adapt to new product introductions and evolving customer requirements.
Team Management and Development:
- Oversee the proper recruitment, training, and performance management of the manufacturing team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
- Promote cross-training initiatives to enhance team flexibility and skill diversity, enabling seamless operations across various production lines.
- Monitor and support employee morale, addressing concerns promptly to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Assist in setting up and organizing the shop floor to optimize workflow and safety, applying 5S principles to maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement:
- Implement Lean manufacturing strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline production and operational processes.
- Utilize visual management tools, such as SQDCP (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People) boards, to monitor and drive performance metrics.
- Use adherence to daily Leader Standard Work to maintain consistency and standardization in operations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team involvement in Lean activities and providing necessary training.
Lean Manufacturing & Agile Production Chain:
- Integrate Lean principles with agile production chain tactics to improve responsiveness.
- Utilize Tier 1 & Tier 2 SQDCP boards to drive problem-solving and performance tracking.
- Foster a disciplined yet flexible production environment through tools like Leader Standard Work.
- Participate in Kaizen events to refine processes, minimize downtime, and enhance workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to balance just-in-time inventory management with rapid product changeovers.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Scheduling: Collaborate with schedulers to understand capacity requirements, constraints, and opportunities, ensuring alignment between production plans and facility capabilities.
- Quality: Work alongside R&D and Quality teams to meet and enhance documented quality standards, addressing any quality issues promptly.
- Engineering: Coordinate with engineering teams to determine and provide necessary information for the production team, facilitating smooth operations and process improvements.
- R&D: Engage with R&D to comprehend design intent and collaboratively resolve production or quality issues, ensuring products align with design specifications and customer expectations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations management, with a proven track record of implementing Lean manufacturing principles.
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field would be a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop diverse teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in identifying and addressing production challenges using data-driven approaches.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in capacity planning, resource management, and production scheduling.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with a focus on achieving operational excellence.
- Experience with Lean tools and methodologies, such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, and root cause analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing software to monitor and analyze production data.
Compensation
- $75,000-80,000/year, paid weekly
- Starting PTO of 2 weeks per calendar year
