Position Title: Bridge Carpenter                                          FLSA: Non-Exempt 

                                                                                                                         Reports to: Crew Foreman 

 Job Description Summary 

This person will perform a wide range of duties on the construction site and will be part of a team responsible for safely and efficiently working together.  Bridge Carpentry primarily consists of building and forming for concrete placement.  It includes placing reinforcing steel, erection of girders and steel beams.  This person will be working around heavy equipment and cranes requiring individual responsibility for personal safety as well as for co-workers. 

 Essential Functions: 

• Able to perform basic carpentry skills 

• Familiar with (and ability to use) basic carpentry hand tools 

• Adheres to all Safety Policies of Thompson-Arthur Bridge Division 

• Regular & timely attendance 

• This position includes working on all other tasks listed 

 Qualifications: 

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent 

• Construction experience preferred 

• Ability to effectively communicate with team members and follow instructions 

• Knowledge of basic math and measurements 

• Ability to read plans a plus 

• Driver’s License preferred 

• Ability to lift 40 lbs
