Job Description Summary
- Seeking an asphalt laborer who will be responsible for shoveling and raking asphalt material along with other responsibilities as needed.
Requirements
- Physical ability to operate equipment under temperature extremes and for extended hours of time. Normal shift is 8-12 hours.
- The selected candidate will be required to work in a team environment with other co-workers and managers.
- Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.
- Properly follow all Company policies and OSHA guidelines for a safe working environment.
- Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project.
- Operate and maintain various vehicles, machinery and other equipment used on the job site.
- Must be able to shovel and rake asphalt material.
- Responsible for upkeep of tools and work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to be flexible with last minute schedule changes, location changes, time of shift changes. Overtime work required. Out of town/county/state work may be required.
- Ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined with ability to learn in a fast paced environment.
- Attendance required according to company attendance policy to ensure crew is able to operate at normal efficiency level.
- Attitude/Cooperation: Must always maintain a courteous and professional manner with co-workers, customers, public.
- Must pass drug test and criminal background check.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of job.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
