Job Description Summary
The selected candidate will be required to work in a team environment with other co-workers and managers.

• Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all company safety policies and procedures
• Troubleshoot malfunctions and repairs
• Replace defective engines and sub-assemblies, such as transmissions, electric motors, drums, seals, hydraulic pumps, valves, pistons, rods, gears, etc.
• Test overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency (must be able to operate all equipment).
• Weld broken parts and structural members.
• Perform record keeping of time and parts used on the appropriate forms.
• Plan work procedures and / or possible solutions such as part redesign, substitution of material or parts and rearrangement of parts or sub-assemblies.
• Perform general cleaning of work areas and maintenance areas.
• Assist other maintenance department staff in performing the duties necessary to assure the efficiency of operations of equipment/vehicles.
• Lift, carry and hold materials, tools and supplies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience with OEM diagnostic software (Cat ET, Cummins Insite etc.)
• Extensive experience in truck and/or heavy equipment maintenance and repair, including diesels, hydraulic systems, air conditioning, brake adjustments and electrical systems
• Familiar with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems & 5S processes
• Strong safety culture a must; Able to work in a positive team environment
• Demonstrate good performance, safety and attendance
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently, without direct supervision
• Demonstrate a willingness to work overtime and weekends/holidays/nights
• Be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold
• Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators and other employees
• Demonstrate the ability to conform to and maintain MSHA, OSHA, DOT and all other company policies or governmental state rules and regulations
• Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as required by OSHA/MSHA
• Must have good depth perception and coordination to operate controls
• Must have a valid driver’s license, CDL B a plus but not required
• Ability to weld
• Able to travel to other locations if needed
• Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required
• Pre-employment physical exam, pre-employment controlled substance testing and criminal background check required before being employed by Callanan Industries, Inc.

Preferences

• Experience with Quarry operations a plus

Education/Experience

• Extensive experience in truck and/or heavy equipment maintenance and repair, including diesels, hydraulic systems and electrical systems
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred
• Experience with Quarry operations a plus
• Welding
