Position:  Quarry Truck Driver

Reports to: Quarry Manager

Shift:  All shifts. 

Pay:  $35.69/hr; this is a collective bargaining position.

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, heavy mobile equipment operations in the quarry to transport materials as designated.

What you’ll be contributing: 

• Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines. 
• Operates haul trucks to transport limestone from the primary crusher to the secondary crusher stockpile
• Operates haul trucks to transport limestone from rock piles to sugar rock loading system
• Operates haul trucks to transport clay and shale from their respective deposits to designated stockpiles
• Operates haul trucks to transport miscellaneous materials as directed  
• Operates the water truck to aid in dust control on quarry roads  
• Hauls water to water storage tanks in the quarry  
• Inspects equipment on a daily basis – as required. 
• Observes all safety rules and keeps work areas and equipment clean and orderly – continuous.

To succeed in this position, you will need: 

• High school graduation or equivalent is required 
• Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs and similar information.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions from supervisor.
• Ability to safely and effectively operate haul trucks, water trucks, pick-up trucks and related quarry mobile equipment.
• Work requires sitting for extended periods of time in trucks, and walking over rough, slippery and uneven surfaces.

What to expect in a cement environment: 

Exposure to heat, dust, dirt, falling rock, excessive noise, and all weather conditions.  Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure.
