Position Overview
The Traffic Control Laborer will safely and efficiently control the movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects under the supervision of the Project Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties & Functions)
- Perform traffic control and flagging activities as needed.
- Follow safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites, including placing signs, barricades, traffic cones and other warning devices.
- Use signs, hand signals and other mechanisms to communicate with motorists and co-workers.
- Inform drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
- Warn construction and paving workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals to prevent accident and injury.
- Various other duties as assigned.
Skills & Specifications
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
- Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
- Must be willing travel and work away from home when required.
Education / Professional Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent education; and five years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
