The Case Worker (part-time) is a professional position requiring skills in interpersonal communication, pre-crisis and crisis intervention, multi-modal approaches, child/adolescent and young adult’s growth and development and report writing. The case worker is responsible for meeting with the client’s and providing the necessary supervision, preparing service plans, providing counseling and independent living skills training and support, and maintaining client files.
Available Schedule: 20 hrs/week- varied days
Compensation: $28 hourly

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Acts as liaison between program, placing agency, family, probation officers, and related professionals regarding the client’s status, special incidents and current status.
- Provides supervision of the youth in the apartments
- Maintains awareness of family visitation and contact.
- Contributes to the development of treatment plans with staff, client, and placing agent.
- Maintains case files in accordance with DSS state licensing standards and CR standards.
- Ensures awareness of client’s need for and follow through on medical appointments, medications, discharge planning placements, education, job preparedness, gaining independent living skills, assessments/service plans, external therapeutic services and assessments, and special needs.
- Attends court or client-related meetings as needed.
- Responsible for leading groups and providing some group facilitation training to counselor trainees.
- Conducts weekly case management meetings with each client.
- Assures follow through on treatment plan action steps through consultation with other counselors and members of the team.
- Completes monthly, ISPs, quarterly and discharge summaries and reports as required.
- Provides crisis counseling and intervention as necessary.
- Reviews case worker trainee’s daily documentation and notes etc… and provides necessary feedback as well as keeping the Child Placing Supervisor updated on staff needs.
- Facilitates staff training during meetings in conjunction with the Child Placing Supervisor.
- Maintains contact and positive relationships with referral sources and placing jurisdictions.
- Consults with the Child Placing Supervisor weekly and as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the program.
- Participates in special projects as necessary.
- Performs additional related duties as assigned.
- Maintains a safe and secure environment.
- Responsible for professional development, e.g., attends professional trainings and seminars related to work in the mental health field.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Requires Bachelor's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, special education, counseling or human services filed with at least two (2) years of experience working as a case worker with children and adolescents.
- Strong understanding of clinical interventions and ability to demonstrate empathy to youth in crisis.
- Ability to work as part of a comprehensive service delivery team.
- Strong organizational skills, administrative skills, and time management.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy and data processing skills.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and access to a private vehicle for day-to-day job performance.
- Flexibility in day and hours; availability for scheduled work, weekend work and on-call emergency work.
- Ability to show sensitivity to cultural differences within a diverse population.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- Master's degree in social work, sociology, psychology, special education, counseling, or human services filed with at least one year of experience working as a case worker with children and adolescents.
