Position Summary
The Packaging Supervisor provides leadership and effectively manages production processes and team members under their area of supervision while complying with company policy.
Position Responsibilities
- The supervisor is responsible for efficiency of production while preserving the integrity and quality of products.
- Responsible for abiding by and holding team members accountable to department and specific role expectations.
- Most of the supervisors’ time will be spent on the production floor identifying improvement opportunities, monitoring safety, production, quality, maintaining Good Manufacturing Practices and incorporating additional expectations and standards.
- Manage issues that arise in the daily operation, offers resolution, and reports to department management if needed for further review.

- Supervisors should be aware of their performance as a group and the overall performance of the company.
- Good housekeeping should always be maintained daily throughout your shift.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department/shift to include interviewing and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance.
- Coach employees in their development of knowledge and skills, providing timely feedback, guidance, and training to help them reach their goal.
- Manage relationships and maintain professional rapport with internal and external colleagues and ensure achievement of department and company goals.
- Facilitate seamless handoffs and communicate key information to peers, team members and Production Management
- Plan and manage the daily allocation of resources (equipment, people, materials, and systems) to safely, efficiently, and cost effectively achieve performance targets set by Production Management
- Actively participate in prevention and correction of quality-related errors
- Trains and provides an environment for employees to achieve their maximum quality and productivity performance in their respective positions.
- Make sure all reporting requirements are met for area of supervision.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous experience leading in a manufacturing environment (Preferably Packaging)
- Proven technical and leadership ability to utilize structured problem solving to deliver results
- Superior problem-solving and coaching capabilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
- Strong team building, decision making and people management skills
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Physical Demands: Lift dead weight, up to 40#’s
- Work Demands: 10-12 hours per day, 2-4 weekends per month
