Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to serve as an RBT Trainer, responsible for delivering the 40-hour training program required by the BACB for individuals pursuing RBT certification. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental conditions. As an RBT Trainer, you will play a critical role in preparing aspiring RBTs with the foundational knowledge and practical skills needed to enter the field ethically and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the full 40-hour RBT training curriculum aligned with the BACB RBT Task List (2nd Edition).
- Present course content in engaging, clear, and professional formats using lectures, video examples, demonstrations, group discussions, and role-plays.
- Ensure all training modules are current, evidence-based, and compliant with BACB guidelines.
- Provide real-life examples and applications from personal experience as an RBT to support learner understanding.
- Assess learner comprehension through quizzes, activities, and knowledge checks.
- Provide constructive feedback to trainees and support them through learning challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and completion.
- Work closely with BCBAs and supervisors to ensure continuity between training and field experience.
- Stay updated on changes to BACB requirements, ethics code, and best practices in ABA.
Requirements
- Active RBT Certification in good standing with the BACB.
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience implementing ABA therapy.
- Prior experience training, mentoring, or supervising new RBTs or ABA staff preferred.
- Strong understanding of the RBT Task List (2nd Edition) and BACB Ethics Code for RBTs.
- Ability to travel to Cedar City every other weekend for training
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to facilitate engaging learning experiences and adjust to diverse learning styles.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in using training platforms, presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides), and virtual meeting tools (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet).
