 Position Summary

This position entails management of Seghesio Family Vineyards’ facilities, satellite properties, as well as acting as a technician. Primary objectives are working safely to ensure all are maintained properly while complying with all applicable city, county, state and federal regulations. This position will be responsible for scheduling and/or performing preventive and corrective maintenance throughout the winery facility and vineyard residences. This position supervises two direct reports (mechanic and landscaper).

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 Facilities, Production, Tasting room, and Company Housing Maintenance:

  • Responsible for safe and sustainable operation of the Seghesio Family Vineyards facilities, including company housing and operations.
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge and experience in operations, construction, equipment repair and maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, glycol chillers, production flow, layout and design, electrical, plumbing.
  • Leads the maintenance and production teams in maintaining the bottling line and assisting with bottling line related issues and maintenance during bottling season.
  • Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology in all areas of job. Keep abreast of changing technology.
  • Assist in the planning and oversight of winery development as it pertains to improvements to buildings, equipment, and infrastructure. 
  • Repair, maintain and or coordinate the service of all facilities, equipment, and company housing, in accordance with facility and equipment manuals and responsible for developing such manuals.
  • Maintain constant vigilance of daily activities to help develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and ensure standard operating procedures are being followed.
  • Responsible for coordination of third-party vendors who may provide services related to day-to-day operations, repairs, construction, repairs and maintenance of facility, equipment, infrastructure, and company housing. Will act as company liaison during third party testing, repairs, and regulatory inspections.
  • Prioritize tasks and projects by using a ticketing system and allocating internal or external resources appropriately
  • Communicate on a regular basis with Winemaking and Tasting Room to manage facility needs.
  • Responsible for managing spare parts and critical parts inventories. This includes ordering and stocking parts and maintaining inventory.
  • Ability to perform hands-on repair work in a prioritized and timely manner including, but not limited to, chiller, HVAC, small engine, plumbing and dry wall repairs, painting, and parts replacement.
  • Build upon the skillsets of direct reports to enable growth and expand upon expertise.

Safety and Security:

  • Security Administration i.e., keys, passcodes, alarm companies.
  • Responsible for responding to the emergencies that may arise at the facility and homes, to ensure efficient operation and to provide corrective or restorative action. Must be able to perform much of this work unsupported until assistance may be needed by third party.
  • Responsible for enforcement of all safety policies and practices for all work activities. Must ensure all policies and practices are followed by any vendors, contractors, or visitors who enter the facility.
  • Responsible for frequent observation, documentation and inspections of winery facilities, winery equipment, off-site machinery, facilities, and equipment.
  • Responsible for recruitment, engagement, counseling and managing disciplinary actions of employees supervised.

Operational and Capital Budgets:

  • Collaborate with Winemaking, Office, DTC and Vineyard to build forward thinking operational and capital budgets that maximize efficiencies and optimize our properties.
  • Develop and institute a comprehensive request for proposal process (RFP), to ensure the company is obtaining the best, services, pricing, and ability to meet timelines.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or associate degree preferred.
  • Years of Experience: 7 or more years’ experience in supervising winery and facilities maintenance.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism, effectively manage conflicts and foster a positive and collaborative work environment. 
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience leading, managing and developing staff.
  • Must have experience with Process Wastewater and Stormwater as it pertains to management and regulatory requirements of the City of Healdsburg and Sonoma County.
  • Adaptive and flexible to changing environments.
  • Proven analytical thinker with thoughtful decision making and resolution management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with Excel, Word and other basic software. Must be able to enter data and analyze collected data for use in decision making.
  • Prior winery experience and comprehension of wine production from grape to bottle is preferable.
  • HVAC Certification highly desirable but not required.
  • Electrical Certification highly desirable but not required. Must have basic AC and DC electrical circuit knowledge.
  • Seek new knowledge and experiences to enhance knowledge. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift or move a minimum of 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to stand and work on feet for extended periods of time.
  • Bilingual, Spanish / English desirable but not required.

 

The projected base salary range for this position is $115K to $122K annually, with opportunity for a bonus. The range is the projected compensation for this position, however the actual compensation offered may vary based on job-related factors such as (but not limited to) candidate qualifications, related experience and education, candidate work location and market data. Crimson Wine Group and Seghesio Family Vineyards reserves the right to modify the pay range at any time in the future.

Salary : $115,000 - $122,000
