Position Summary:
A highly motivated Scientist 1, Targeted Therapeutics within the Biology group at Crinetics works within a highly collaborative group focusing on targets linked to unmet needs in endocrine-related cancers. The Scientist 1 participates in discovery and translational efforts aimed at identifying and characterizing novel targeted therapeutic targets. This individual will investigate the mechanisms of action of new molecules and define optimal drug profiles in vitro by designing and executing experiments under the tutelage of a senior member of the group with minimal oversight. The incumbent works in a dynamic environment to help advance programs from discovery into development as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
These may include but are not limited to:
- Ability to develop and maintain multiple stable cell lines independently.
- Implements excellent aseptic technique required for primary cell culture.
- Design, optimize, and validate pharmacology assays.
- Perform, analyze, and interpret assays independently.
- Possess knowledge of molecular biology techniques to support cell line generation.
- Maintains electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Aid in preparation of written technical reports and summaries independently.
- Write excellent standard operating protocols.
- Interact with other Discovery groups effectively.
- Support the organization in maintaining a work environment focused on scientific integrity and quality, one that fosters learning, open communication, collaboration, and teamwork.
Education and Experience:
Required:
- MS with 8 years or PhD with 1 year of relevant laboratory experience (industry experience preferred).
- Strong cell culture expertise with proven experience in cell line development
- Experience with basic molecular biology techniques using DNA, RNA, and protein.
- Detail-oriented, with excellent organization and record-keeping skills.
- Capable of working both independently with minimal oversight and in a collaborative environment.
- Outstanding written and oral presentation capabilities,
- Software knowledge in Windows, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams), GraphPad Prism, among others as required.
Preferred:
- Experience in assay development.
- Experience in siRNA design and delivery.
- Extensive experience in developing cancer therapeutics
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; intermittently answer telephone and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. The Anticipated Base Salary Range: $96,000-$119,000

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
