What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Advocate Part-Time Weekend Days with 10% shift differential position at Crisis Center of West Texas?
Position: Intake Advocate (Part-time, 7a-7p Saturday and Sunday)
Supervisor: Residential Services Coordinator
Purpose: To answer the crisis hotline at the Crisis Center during an assigned shift and provide assistance to clients and co-workers as needed.
Position Qualifications:
- A high school diploma/GED
- Ability to be proactive in advocating for the victim-survivor client.
- Ability to demonstrate awareness and sensitivity to the diverse cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds of clients.
- Use crisis intervention techniques that promote client empowerment and self-determination.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Flexibility regarding work schedule.
- The ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful.
Special Employment Conditions:
- This is a non-exempt, hourly wage position which may include overnight, weekend and evening work with a 10% shift differential.
- Must attend a 40 hour sexual assault training within 6 months of hire date.
- Conduct yourself according to the Vision and Mission of the agency.
- May take pictures, produce artwork or other creative works for agency projects, all which becomes property of agency.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Agency duties shall be, but not limited to:
- Provide client-centered and trauma-informed approach to client care.
- Work shifts, as needed to ensure 24/7, 365 phone coverage.
- Assure hotline phone is answered at all times.
- Provide crisis intervention, information for referrals, and supportive listening for incoming calls and request for assistance.
- Conduct initial intake information and complete paperwork.
- Assign each new client to a Victim Advocate/Case Manager
- Refer all client interaction to the Case Manager
- Maintain a professional relationship that assists clients in goal attainment.
- Clean and prepare client rooms as needed.
- Clean office and other work areas as needed.
- Assist Case Managers as instructed.
- Collaborate with other staff to provide timely responses to all residents.
- Attend meetings, conferences, trainings as requested.
- Conduct the Crisis Support Specialist position in compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Fill client supply requests
- Provide transportation for clients and their children as needed.
- Adhere to agency policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Client Services or Executive Director.
