Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator

Crisis Services is actively seeking to fill a critical position on our Advocate Team.  We are hiring a Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator who will oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of the sexual violence primary prevention strategies of the Communities Mobilizing for Safety (CMS) project throughout Erie County.  We are seeking an experienced professional with a background in public health, education or a related health services field who is interested in championing our mission to provide support to anyone in need.

About this opportunity:

 

The Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator will work with community partners and other key stakeholders in fulfilling program objectives and strategic direction of this New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) funded grant project. This includes coordinating community level sexual violence primary prevention programs and fostering collaboration with community partners (e.g. schools, nightlife establishments, coalitions, policymakers) through outreach and engagement. The Coordinator will be responsible for promoting social norms and building capacity to foster a community of hopefulness, safety, and shared responsibility through coalition building, specifically with youth.

 

 

Job Type: 

 

  • Full Time, 40 hours/week

 

Pay: 

 

  • $23.50/hour

 

 

Schedule: 

 

  • Monday through Friday with occasional nights/weekends

 

Work Setting:

 

  • Office-based with remote capabilities

 

What you will bring: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in public health and/or education required. One (1) year of experience working in sexual violence prevention and/or response strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a public health approach to violence prevention and program implementation within a Social Ecological Model framework.
  • Awareness of best practices related to sexual violence prevention education, risk reduction, and survivor support strategies.
  • Experience in coordinating teams, project management, and staff development.
  • Familiarity with community mobilization, including multidisciplinary coalitions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license with a clean driving record and access to reliable automobile.
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point and Internet.
  • Social media literacy with Instagram and Canva.
