Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical ITM Analyst (Insider Threat Management Analyst) to join our Insider Threat Management Programme in South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4–6 years of experience in law enforcement, private enterprise security, or intelligence operations. Experience in the mining or industrial sector would be advantageous. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of security management and should be able to demonstrate the ability to foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment while working across cross-functional teams. Strong presentation skills are essential in enabling communication of findings, insights, and recommendations to key stakeholders.
What You Will Work On
In this role, you will be responsible for analysing a broad spectrum of data to identify and verify Potential Risk Indicators (PRIs) while also supporting investigative efforts. You will conduct in-depth research and analysis by using analytical tools and software to detect emerging threats and anomalies. The role will require collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to develop an understanding of the risk landscape of individuals or organisations within and external to the Client business. The candidate will be required to gather and evaluate information from multiple sources to predict and prevent risk-focused or criminal activities. The information will be delivered by producing high-quality written reports and delivering oral briefings to key stakeholders.
As part of your responsibilities, you will provide guidance to team members, ensuring an intelligence-driven responses aligned with legal frameworks and organisational policies. The candidate will conduct analysis of both digital and non-digital data to identify and assess PRIs, support table-top investigations through follow-ups of identified risks. In collaboration with investigators, you will contribute to in-depth PRI investigations while managing a database of PRIs, monitoring investigative progress and case outcomes. You will be required to maintain strict confidentiality while capturing and managing intelligence data within the Online Intelligence platform.
Role and Responsibilities
Ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with local legislation and Crisis24 and the Client's policies and procedures
Providing specialist advice and guidance to team members to ensure that responses are delivered within appropriate policies and legislation and achieve the best possible outcomes
Analyse digital and non-digital data to identify PRIs
Following up on table-top investigation of PRIs identified
Interacting and supporting investigators allocated the task of comprehensively investigating PRIs
Managing a database of the PRIs, the flow of investigations, and the eventual outcome of such matters
Ensuring all administrative functions are carried out effectively
Providing timely communication and actionable PRI-focused intelligence to support the protection of people, assets/intellectual property, and infrastructure
Ensuring that accurate information is captured on the Online Intelligence platform
Ensuring that strict confidentiality is maintained regarding all activities
Liaising with other analysts regarding important information and trends
Maintaining accurate records of relevant information using appropriate systems
Writing and recording reports regarding PRIs and the outcome of investigations
Analysing at a strategic, tactical, and operational level by identifying and using appropriate analytical tools and techniques to interpret gaps, patterns, and trends, assess the threat, risk, and harm, and make recommendations supporting decision-making, prioritisation, and resource allocation
Maintaining awareness of innovation within the analytics and intelligence communities to ensure implementation of the latest techniques and tactics, best practices, and information relevant to the role
Receiving, and assessing information and maintaining record management systems, ensuring effective record management and an audit trail
Where required, intelligence/ information relating to PRIs must be disseminated to support ongoing operations and achieve the ITMP objectives
Prepare, deliver, and present analytical information for disciplinary and court proceedings, as required
Assisting in verifying the security of third parties to the Client
Researching and awareness of current IT security trends and news
Researching a broad spectrum of security enhancements and making recommendations to ITMP management
Use advanced analytic tools to determine emerging threat patterns and vulnerabilities
Carrying out secretarial functions for the ITM Governance Committee and Stakeholder Working Group
Who You Will Work With
This is an embedded role with a key client of Crisis24. In this role, you will work with key role players within Crisis24 and the Client’s organisation, both locally and internationally. You will also work with the Client’s Security Department and contractor security companies to ensure compliance with security protocols and objectives. Externally, you will work with data suppliers, analysts in other industries and Client appointed investigators to enhance investigative capabilities.
What You Will Bring
A grade 12 qualification along with a relevant diploma or degree in Information Systems, Data Management, or Analytics is required
The successful candidate should be committed to continuous education and training to stay ahead of emerging security threats, technologies, and industry best practices
You will bring experience in collecting and analysing both digital and non-digital data, preferably within a security or risk-related environment
Your strong computer literacy skills, along with knowledge in digital data and online research methods
You will bring strong attention to detail when analysing data and identifying anomalies
Strong command of the English language, both verbally and in writing
You should have strong time management and organisational skills to balance multiple tasks efficiently
Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure is important for working within tight deadlines
Notes:
This will be an initial fixed-term contract of 15 months, with the possibility of extending the contract for a further fixed term
This role will be subject to significant initial and ongoing screening, including but not limited to a criminal record, credit, education, previous employment, and background verifications
Due to the nature of the data to be analysed, a non-disclosure and confidentiality agreement will need to be formalised
The incumbent must be prepared to undertake and accept the outcome of a truth verification test by a competent credibility assessment specialist during the recruitment phase and ongoing at Crisis24's discretion
The role will occasionally allow remote work from home, and to this end, the incumbent must have an uncapped, stable, and fast fibre link at their residence
