    Position Title: Paraprofessional – Computer Lab
    Reports To: Principal
    Primary Function:
    Supervision of assigned students in the completion of technology enriched educational activities in the computer lab. Assists with repair and maintenance of computer software and hardware.
    Requirements:
    Educational Level: Appropriate 2 yr. degree or posting a passing score on the Paraprofessional Licensing Test.
    Certification/Licensing: Valid Paraprofessional or Aide License.
    Proficiency Skills: Written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of effective instructional techniques and strategies. Demonstration of fair and equitable classroom management skills. Computer literacy and a willingness to learn techniques for computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
    Personal Skills: Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills, and stamina to perform essential duties.

    1.Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.
    2.Demonstrates appropriate communication skills as applicable for the job.
    3.Acts in a professional manner and maintains a professional attitude towards the public and colleagues and exhibits the fundamentals of good public/customer service.
    4.Complies with system Cultural Diversity Guidelines in dealing with students, parents, coworkers and the public.
    5.Complies with school, system, state and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics, as related to job requirements.
    6.Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and material; adheres to chain of command.
    7.Maintains a professional appearance as appropriate for job responsibilities.
    8.Participates in appropriate training, workshops and staff development activities and applies what is learned to the job; accepts new challenges in a professional manner.
    9.Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of job responsibilities; performs routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision.
    10.Exhibits time on task, a flexible, cooperative, progressive and hard working attitude and style. Limits personal business and phone calls during work hours.
    11.Takes direction readily in a cooperative manner from the supervisor.
    12.Provides adequate supervision of students at all times.
    13.Disciplines students with fairness and equity.
    14.Assists classroom teacher in planning and implementing technology enriched activities.
    15.Assists in student assessment and record keeping. Prepares reports as needed.
    16.Performs routine maintenance of equipment. Maintains records of computer maintenance.
    17.Facilitates troubleshooting and repair of equipment including communicating needs with appropriate personnel.
    18. Promotes responsible use of materials and equipment.
    19. Handles ordering and inventory of classroom equipment and materials.
    20. Reviews software for computer lab curriculum.
    21. Adheres to and promotes copyright laws and system Acceptable Use Policy.
    22. Demonstrates loyalty to the school, school system and administrators.
    23. Enhances the climate of the building and the morale of colleagues.
    24. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
