Job Summary
The Strategic Communications Manager will play a pivotal role in the development and integrated implementation of CRISP Shared Service’s newly established and growing Corporate Communications department. This position will be responsible for the day-to-day successful management of CRISP Shared Services’ managed communications services to customers and programs across the nation, and for supporting the execution and cohesive dissemination of enterprise-wide communications initiatives and messaging that reinforces and further propels CSS and its partners as market leaders.
This manager possesses exceptional customer and stakeholder relationship management skills and the expertise to strategize and execute critical and creative activities across a broad range of communication and engagement tactics and verticals, including capability for storytelling across robust channels: Corporate and executive communications, public relations, media relations, stakeholder engagement, content marketing, speaking circuits, local/national events and conferences, and thought leadership.
CRISP Shared Services is a rapidly growing national organization; this position is anticipated to evolve into full-time strategic communications account and program management within the first year, with initial workload expected to be split across corporate and account-based strategic communications priorities and initiatives.
Experience in healthcare or health technology and either communications account management or government/nonprofit program communications management is required. Candidate will be required to work EST hours.
Requirements:Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Responsible for the day-to-day management and tactical execution of CSS’s strategic communications strategies and plans for assigned customer accounts and programs
- Navigates complex and disparate local, state and national regulatory and cultural healthcare environments, ensuring tactics, content and messaging are adapted to appropriately reflect and target diverse audiences and stakeholders
- Works cross functionally with internal and external teams across a broad range of specialties successfully capturing and sharing value and impact messaging across technology, product and programs to highlight milestones and unique value positioning and ensuring effective communication to critical stakeholders for updates across customer and program audiences
- Supports the development of internal systems, processes and collateral to enhance department’s communication managed services; manages ongoing maintenance, organization and updating of systems and collateral repositories
- Partners with Director, Communications team and external contractors and agencies to develop, deliver and execute strategic communications content and tactics
- Supports, drafts and develops external communications and PR activities for internal and external teams to include media pitching and coverage tracking, press releases, talking points and collateral support for webinars and trainings, customer and team meeting presentations and preparations, executive communications and thought leadership, etc.
- Improves market reputation and growth support for the organization nationally and across CSS’s partner regions/states across the country
- Leverages B2B, B2G and B2C integrated communications strategies as necessary and applicable to achieve successful results of campaign, program and strategic initiatives
- Supports issues mitigation and management, and advises internal/external stakeholders on best practices and adapts evolving strategies and tactics to reflect
- Supports the development and approval of digital assets and content; may support maintaining external web and other digital resources
- Provides representation for C-suite members, Director of Communications and Corporate Communications team as needed internally across functions and externally with a variety of different stakeholders
- Monitors, analyzes and assesses market, industry and competitor trends and the evolving landscape and synthesizes insights into actionable and effective strategies and tactics

- Has a strong understanding of challenges and opportunities facing health data networks, public and private hospital/health systems and programs and services; understands perspectives of unique users, buyers and influencers and can communicate adequately and effectively to different vertical audiences
- Ability to understand and accurately communicate complex healthcare and technology concepts and products
- Ability to interact with senior management and stakeholders appropriately; demonstrated experience giving formal presentations to audiences of various sizes and seniority
- Strong collaboration, interpersonal and influencing skills; excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with stakeholders and influencers; demonstrated experience in customer, account and partnership management, including knowledge of best practices and relationship management
- Outstanding written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with both a technical and non-technical audience
- Ability to evaluate and solve complex problems and issues, including the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Possession and demonstration of high energy, flexibility, creativity, and good judgment; demonstrated ability to deliver results with limited direction and guidance and on tight deadlines
Experience and/or Education Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of communications experience, with at least 2 years of that experience directly managing communications campaigns, accounts or programs. Or equivalent
- Experience managing multiple projects (timelines, budgets, priorities) simultaneously; able to be flexible, maintain focus and composure under pressure and operate exceptionally in rapidly changing internal/external environments
- Demonstrated experience in strategic communications and account/program management; knowledge of healthcare market and communications industry trends, headwinds and tailwinds and demonstrated ability to leverage those effectively in external communications
Compensation and Benefits Package
- Targeted base salary: 90k – 110k per year, based on experience and qualifications, plus benefits and bonuses.
- Benefits include the following but are not limited to health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance. CSS also has a 403(b) plan with discretionary employer match and contributions. You will be eligible for 20 days of Paid Time Off per year (accrued in accordance with CSS’s policies). PTO is in addition to 8 company designated holidays. If you are not PTO eligible, you may be eligible for applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave in accordance with the provisions of any applicable state and/or local sick and safe leave laws.
