About the Role:
The General Manager at Crisp will oversee all aspects of the dispensary’s daily operations. This includes managing staff, ensuring compliance with local and state regulations, handling financial oversight, and driving sales and customer satisfaction. You will report directly to the Head of Retail and work closely with them to develop and implement strategies that ensure operational excellence and achieve business goals. Your leadership will inspire a team committed to delivering top-tier customer service in a safe, compliant, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, train, and, when necessary, terminate staff members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and manage disciplinary actions.
- Develop and maintain staff schedules to ensure optimal coverage.
- Operational Oversight:
- Ensure the dispensary’s compliance with security protocols, inventory management, and local and state regulations.
- Manage daily operations, including cash handling, inventory control, and record-keeping.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency and ensure compliance.
- Customer Experience:
- Manage and inspire the dispensary team to deliver the highest level of customer service.
- Ensure the safety and satisfaction of every customer and employee.
- Oversee marketing and promotional activities to attract and retain customers.
- Financial Management:
- Create and manage budgets, forecast sales, and develop strategies to meet or exceed sales and profit goals.
- Monitor and analyze financial reports, sales data, and inventory levels to inform business decisions.
- Training and Development:
- Provide ongoing education and development for staff on cannabis products, including strains, edibles, concentrates, and consumption methods.
- Lead educational sessions to ensure staff are knowledgeable and compliant with industry regulations.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure full compliance with all local and state laws, including maintaining accurate records for security, inventory, and regulatory reporting.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and update practices accordingly.
- Community and Leadership:
- Serve as the face of Crisp in the community, building relationships with customers, local businesses, and other stakeholders.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and a commitment to excellence.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a General Manager or in a similar leadership role, preferably in the cannabis retail industry.
- Strong understanding of retail operations, financial management, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in retail management software and inventory management systems.
- Must be 21 years of age or older with a valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
- Must pass a background check.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in cannabis retail management.
- Familiarity with Connecticut state cannabis regulations.
- Experience in creating and managing budgets and financial reports.
