Salary : $40,000 / year
The English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher will be responsible for instructing students in the study of literature, grammar, composition, and other language-related skills. Your primary goal is to foster a love for language and literature while ensuring students develop strong communication and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and educational standards.
- Develop and update instructional materials, including textbooks, worksheets, and multimedia resources.
- Facilitate classroom discussions, activities, and projects to promote a deeper understanding of literature and language concepts.
- Teach students the fundamentals of grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and writing skills.
- Evaluate students' performance through a variety of assessments, such as exams, essays, and projects.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on their work, highlighting areas for improvement and recognizing achievements.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
- Offer additional support or challenges to students based on their individual needs.
- Incorporate technology into lessons to enhance learning experiences, such as using online resources, educational software, and multimedia presentations.
- Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Enforce classroom rules and address behavioral issues promptly and effectively.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding students' progress and academic performance.
- Participate in parent-teacher conferences and other school-related events.
- Stay current with educational trends, teaching methodologies, and literature through continuous professional development.
- Collaborate with colleagues and participate in workshops or training sessions.
- Participate in or oversee English-related extracurricular activities, such as literary clubs, writing workshops, and the like.
