Description:
- Develop interim benchmarks and backwards assessments linked to course standards. Work with other faculty and administrators to analyze results and refocus instruction based on student needs, interests, and gaps in learning
- Participate in the school’s professional learning community and instructional coaching. Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student work and teaching practice. Help to create a reflective learning organization for both students and adults. Serve as a catalyst for improvement in your own classroom and in the school
- Differentiate instruction to allow students with differing learning styles to access course content
- Utilize classroom technology and collaborate with an instructional technology specialist to engage students’ learning and provide a relevant, research-based, technology-rich classroom environment
- Participate in an annual Open House event and student-led conference sessions.
- Maintain a SAFE (physically, emotionally, and socially) classroom environment free from hate and discrimination but full of acceptance and joy
- Understand your own teaching practice as developmental. Tap into available resources from colleagues and external sources to continually reflect on and improve your teaching
Faith Development
- Model the Viatorian values of faith, service, and action.
- Take part in the school's religious and spiritual programs, including faculty and staff retreats.
- Successfully complete the “Safe Environment Training”
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in education and relevant content area
- Demonstrated ability to connect with historically underserved students and families
Preferred
- Master’s Degree in education and relevant content area
- 3 years teaching experience serving a similar student population
- Bilingual in Spanish
