Description
Job is in Tampa Florida headquarters office of a 30 year old very well established construction company.
You must live in Tampa or live in Florida and be willing to relocate to Tampa (must have experience with many of Florida's hurricane-based unique building codes)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the administrative and technical management of a construction project.
Work alongside the Project Executive to steer the project forward and ensure a quality project is completed within time, budget and scope constraints.
Assist with the analysis of project requirements to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates (AKA Estimater).
Review proposals for various scopes of work and award Subcontracts accordingly.
Consult with clients, vendors or construction personnel to analyze and formulate schedules and resolve issues.
Assist with the preparation of cost and expenditure statements (and other necessary documentation) at regular intervals for the duration of the project.
Assess the cost-effectiveness of projects or services and track actual costs relative to bids as the project develops.
Provide independent analysis of project management organization, contractual issues, schedules and financial metrics.
Assist the Project Executive with job processes (RFIs, submittals, pay application, etc.) and negotiate subcontract change orders.
Monitor project procurement, including long-lead items, while interacting with consultants, clients and construction contractors.
Prepare meeting agendas, take detailed notes and distribute notes to the appropriate individuals.
Display an understanding of the overall project financials.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree plus 2-5 years in engineering, architecture and / or construction management, preferably in multi-family construction.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, can manage multiple priorities, and has strong management and communication skills.
Possess a high level of experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), including the use of formulas and pivot tables.
Must be comfortable learning and using technology including the ability to master sector-specific software such as ProCore and BlueBeam.
Must be able to travel locally to project sites as needed.
Physical Requirements
oMust be able to lift 35 pounds.
oMust be able to safely navigate a construction project site including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs and climbing ladders.
