This is an in-office job in the Fort Lauderdale Florida area
100-120K annual Bonus
Assistant Controller
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure accurate financial operations, manage daily transactions, support financial reporting and strengthen internal controls.
Report to the Controller
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative high-performance environment.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements).
Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
Manage daily working capital, including cash disbursement, application, and Treasury activities.
Oversee month-end and year-end closings for efficiency and accuracy.
Perform reconciliations and analysis of general ledger accounts.
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and maintain financial integrity.
Identify and address control weaknesses, recommending improvements.
Liaise with auditors and support audit processes, addressing findings and implementing corrective actions.
Assist with tax preparation and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
Develop and evaluate financial strategies to support growth.
Requirements
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
5 years in accounting / finance.
CPA designation and public accounting experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel expertise)
Accounting ERP systems (Vista preferred).
Excellent technical, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
