The Senior Software Engineer position is a part of the full life cycle software development process to include designing, developing and maintaining system components with a focus on embedded applications operating under Linux, or other RTOS.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications including production test (DAT) programs
Analyze clients’ needs and develop software solutions.
Interact with team members in a multi-functional, matrixed environment.
Assist in basic hardware testing of existing and new development projects
Assess hardware and software requirements of projects / products
Maintain quality assurance for all application development and enhancements
Requirements
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
9 years embedded software development
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Linux software development and Linux scripting languages
C / C programming for microcontrollers
Java
Past professional work on complicated applications where networking and communications protocols were considered
Developing Real-Time applications Creating and maintaining a GIT code repository throughout project life
Open-Source Software
Creating user documentation
Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
Strong understanding of software design principles, algorithms, data structures, design patterns and multithreading concepts
Excellent general computer science knowledge, including operating systems, databases, software systems and networking
Embedded Linux, and embedded tools (nice to have, not required)
Lua programming (nice to have, not required)
Python Programming (nice to have, not required)
TypeScripting and / or JavaScripting (nice to have, not required)
