The Senior Software Engineer position is a part of the full life cycle software development process to include designing, developing and maintaining system components with a focus on embedded applications operating under Linux, or other RTOS.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Designs, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications including production test (DAT) programs
Analyze clients’ needs and develop software solutions.
Interact with team members in a multi-functional, matrixed environment.
Assist in basic hardware testing of existing and new development projects
Assess hardware and software requirements of projects / products
Maintain quality assurance for all application development and enhancements
Requirements
The ideal candidate is strong in C / Java applications development….in Linux….and has done some embedded development.
This client is not looking for a developer with low-level embedded RTOS or bare metal microcontrollers products, rather, they need someone with high-level application development experience.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
C / C / Java application development for microcontrollers.
Development of complicated applications where networking and communications protocols were considered
Developing real-time applications….creating and maintaining a GIT code repository throughout project life
9 years embedded software development, ideally in Linux, including Linux scripting languages
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Open-Source Software use
Creating user documentation
Test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
Any work on Traffic Signals products (extremely desirable)
Lua programming (nice to have, not required)
Python Programming (nice to have, not required)
TypeScripting and / or JavaScripting (nice to have, not required)

Salary : $130,000 - $160,000
