You'll lead on-site engineering evaluations, oversee dynamic project management, and communicate clearly with clients to tackle their challenges head-on. You'll be a problem solver by helping our clients understand their buildings and driving innovative solutions that shape the spaces where our clients live and work!
Days and weeks are rarely the same since you will dive into a variety of fascinating projects, from assessing load-bearing walls to conducting full building inspections; from forensic inspections to ensuring repairs and construction are in accordance with designs. In this role you will share your critical expertise with customers both in person, and by producing clear, concise reports that directly address key issues - you'll make a tangible difference in every project you touch.
Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site engineering inspections, including structural, building condition, engineering studies, and forensic investigations
- Engage in diverse project types including inspections for potential structural deficiencies on buildings, walls, balconies, etc., commercial/HOA/residential condition assessments, and new construction quality assurance inspections.
- Develop engineering calculations and draft / stamp construction documents to support the repair of inspected components.
- Manage and coordinate projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to deliverable and project budget.
- Provide clear and concise written reports and conduct meetings to discuss report results.
- Lead, manage, direct, and review the work of other engineering staff. Seal and stamp documents.
- Travel to job sites around the Phoenix metro area and throughout Arizona. Occasional travel to the Las Vegas, NV office.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree: Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical or Construction Engineering Technology
- Five years plus experience in related field; pay will be commensurate with experience
- Experience with building codes, including IBC and local codes
- Excellent written and verbal communication (not just a filler request!)
- Humble team player who can lead by example and proactively collaborate with the team and customers
- Proven self-starter, accountable for results, and the ability to work independently or in a team
- Strong attention to detail and able to multi-task in an environment with competing priorities
- OSHA10 certification or equivalent
- Legally authorized to work in the United States with a valid US drivers license
- Meet the physical requirements of the job to include extensive walking, climbing ladders, heights, and occasionally small spaces.
Preferred
- Licensed Arizona Professional Engineer in good standing (ability to obtain Nevada license)
- Contacts throughout Phoenix in the building, construction, real estate industries
- Strong skills Microsoft Office, computers, tablets, virtual meeting software, AutoCAD, BlueBeam Revu
Salary : $85,000 - $120,000
